“THE BASIS OF A BRILLIANT HAIRSTYLIST, OR COLORIST….IS AN ARTIST…SOMEONE WHO IS NOT AFRAID TO TRANSFORM YOU…WHO HAS HAD EXPERIENCE IN CREATIVITY, BALANCE, AND HARMONY…SOMEONE WHO HAS BEEN WORKING WITH A PALETTE OF COLORS AND HAS HAD AN UNDERSTANDING WITH THE CHEMISTRY OF THE COLOR WHEEL AND ITS VERY IMPORTANT LAWS…HAVING WORKED WITH THESE LAWS MOST OF HIS/HER LIFE…AND WAY BEFORE THEY BECAME A COSMETOLOGIST.”

Leaving high school I was going to college for graphic design. I learned very quickly that was not fulfilling my artistic needs. I started Mansfield Beauty Academy soon after high school. That was over 25 years ago. I have worked and been trained in three different states -Massachusetts, New York and North Carolina. I have been working with Goldwell Color Systems for over 20 years. It is an incredible product.
It is very rewarding to see the smile in someone’s eyes when you’ve made them feel beautiful. Whether it is a simple bang trim or a complete makeover I love what I do and I think it shows in my work.
Come see me at The COLOR bar.

I’ve always known I wanted to do hair. From the age of four, I spent hours in the mirror styling my hair. At age 14, I had my own styling chair. I later went to beauty school, and began my career at one of the top salons in NYC. After Undergoing 3 years of competitive training, I knew I was ready to branch off and open my own salon. In September of 2009 I opened my doors to Brooklyn NY. The success of the salon soon led to award shows and high profile clientele. I began to travel more and discovered a love for Charlotte NC. In 2014 I relocated to Charlotte, and later planted myself at the Color Bar Salon. It was all about finding compatibility. I absolutely love what I do, and needed to be apart of something that made me wake up everyday still loving it.
“From kinky, curly to straight, I find great passion in creating your vision. After all, Hair has no limit.”
Darby is new to our area here in Waxhaw and also new as a stylist to us here at The Color Bar! She started doing hair in 2002 and has since then fell in love with the everchanging industry. Her room to grow and expand in the industry here in Waxhaw is an amazing opportunity. Doing hair has helped Darby find her inner artist and express herself with everyclient that sits in her chair. She specializes in all color techniques, cutting, waxing, updo/ special event styling and braiding!
Hi I am Cortney Addair! My career as a stylist started in VA. Beach in 2004. I worked at one of the most prestigious salons at the beach and eventually ran my own business until relocating to Charlotte about three years ago. I’m excited to be a part of the color bar here in Waxhaw, working alongside Creatives who share the same passion for this industry. I’m also excited to serve you in doing what I love, making you beautiful!
Several years ago, as a client, I had received my first facial. Walking out of the spa, I realized skin care was where my life passion resided. In the past I, myself, had struggled with improper skin care, like so many do. After experiencing this personal eye opening experience, I pursed my career in esthetics, earning my Esthetician License in 2008. After gaining the expertise, I had learned skin is the largest organ involved in the human body, healthy skin care is vital to your overall health. Passing on the knowledge of maintaining, preserving and repairing skin; all while pampering others really is fulfilling. I’ve realized that when people look better, they feel better! So it’s a great feeling to be able to contribute to a person’s self esteem and self image. Looking forward to meeting you soon at the Colorbar Hair Salon and Day Spa!
Hey I’m Matthew! I have been involved with the beauty industry since I was 14 years old. I started off my career journey here in Waxhaw, by becoming a makeup artist. Throughout years I found my life’s passion, doing hair. Now every day I go to work to make people feel great about themselves, it thrills me! It makes my soul shine when I can cut someone’s hair or change their outlook and boost their self-esteem. Runways and fashion shows are fun, but I could not imagine myself doing anything other than what I am doing right now. Working with people one on one to help fulfill their dreams.
Hey I’m Amber Cox, I am originally from Charlotte, NC, but have lived in Monroe for a couple of years now. I am a mom and a wife, I love every minute of it. I was in the Army National Guard for three years and I went to school for EMT Basic. I am CPR certified and I also have an associates degree in Criminal Investigations. I have always liked the idea of being a receptionist, but never thought I would be one, especially at The Color Bar. I enjoy my job and I enjoy meeting new people.
Hey my name is Natalie! I have been working in customer service for about seven years now. I graduated high school back in 2014 and attended classes at South Piedmont Community College! My goal was to be an ultrasound technician. I got certified as a CNA (certified nurse assistant) and quickly figured out that wasn’t for me! I took a break from school and recently, I have decided to pursue a degree in marketing and advertising! I now take classes online through South Piedmont Community College. I love working at the Color Bar! Everyone is friendly and welcoming, with a positive attitude! When I’m not at the Color Bar I am at home with my 4 dogs who I love as my children! Call me to make an appointment!
I am a graduate of Continental School of Beauty in New York. Growing up I always loved art and hair-styling, from there my passion for cosmetology took off! With an eye for creative hair-styling, I specialize in updos as well as helping you create your everyday styles while in my chair. I love getting to know and understanding the personalities and lifestyles of my clients. This is key when working with my clients to create the best looks and styles for each individual.
